Welcome to KCCCF
The Knanaya migration to Central Florida began in the late 1980’s. Mrs. and Mr. George Madthiparambil and Mrs. and Mr. Babu Kulangara are the two pioneers of KCCCF who migrated to Tampa from Chicago. The weather closer to Kerala, family ties, job opportunities and the unique spirit of Knanaya kootayma attracted many more to Central Florida in the following years. On February 23rd 1992 the Knanaya Catholic Congress of Central Florida was born in Valrico at the residence of Dr. Abraham Karottukunnel; Mr. Babu Kulangara as the founding President and Mr. Stephen Mattathiparambil as the Secretary. Late Mr. Raju Poothakulam and Rev. Fr. Simon Mathuruthil were very instrumental in forming the KCCCF. The territory of KCCCF was then not established well at the time, but later on established as, all the regions of the State of Florida except the area of South Florida Knanaya association. The purpose of this association is the enrichment of the spiritual and cultural life of its members by engaging in religious, cultural, and charitable activities while upholding and promoting all the ethnic traditions and norms of the Knanaya Catholic Community of the Archdiocese of Kottayam in India. Association always strives to maintain the necessary environment for the consistent and regular practice of these ethnic traditions and norms.
